This class is designed to give your teen an introduction on how to care for their own hair at home, from shampooing, conditioning,detangling and styling to the theory behind healthy natural hair and how important it is to start healthy hair practices now to ensure healthy hair habits for the future. This class is hands-on and is made for teens 13-17. We will also have snacks and refreshments, but if they want to bring their own food they are welcome!

You will receive information for your teen prior to class to prepare you for how they should show up to class. In class, the first half of class we will cover shampooing, conditioning and detangling their hair. The second half of class will be the styling. They will be working on their own hair, and we will guide them through the process of all techniques.
Everyone will leave with their hair in a state to either finish up the styling started in class or in a complete style to go home with and wear for the week. Up until this point, every teen has left with a style they completed themselves or with help from the stylists that will be present for the class. The style will be based on their hair texture and the time they have left after the shampooing portion.

When:
Sunday, March 10th of 2024 at 1:30PM – 5:30pm

What to bring:
Just bring your teen and their willingness to learn. Also bring any questions you may have about their hair or any products you are currently using! Also, have them wear a shirt that they don’t mind getting wet.

What to expect:
You should expect for them to show up and be in a group setting with other teens trying to learn how to care for their own hair as well. They will be at a table with a mirror and all the tools needed to complete the task! We will provide towels and products to complete the techniques we will be covering.We will cover technique as well as product use and healthy hair practices.
You will receive information prior to class on how to prepare their hair for class so we can start right away! This environment is very fun, lighthearted and a time to connect with others who have the same goals. We usually end up talking about all kinds of things that pertain to their teen age. Hair as it relates to school and the activities they are in, their relationship with their natural hair and just overall where they are as it pertains to how they are showing up as themselves in this moment.
